Roads to You

Get involved in one or more of the following ways:


· Home Stays - host a musician or two in your home; host families further cultural exchange and increase interaction among orchestra members and the local community. Host families are asked to provide breakfast and dinner for their musician(s) and transportation when needed. · Educational Workshops - arrange an educational workshop at a local school. Musicians will visit schools in small groups to make presentations about their own countries for non-music students and/or to conduct master classes for music students. There is a sliding-scale fee for these workshops and cultural arts assembly programs to help offset the tour costs. · House and Community Concerts – organize a concert in your home, at your place of worship or local community center. The musicians are forming tango, jazz, Celtic, Klezmer, Middle Eastern, folk, Brazilian and brass trios and quartets, as well as a chamber orchestra and solo performances. ABOUT US

Mohannad Malas, a community activist and leader, Mr. Malas is currently the owner and CEO of Dana Investments, a real estate investment and development company that owns and manages about $100 Million in real estate assets in five States. Mr. Malas is a member of YPO Alumni, W.P.O & CEO International Business organizations for corporate CEO's. Served 3 years on the Board of Directors of J.D.F. (Juvenile Diabetes Foundation) an International foundation. Lifetime Founding Member- Mission Hospital Foundation. (Mission Viejo, CA). Served 3 years as a Board member of A.I.B. (Atlanta Interfaith Broadcasters) a cable TV station based in Atlanta, GA. Current Board member of The California Charitable Foundation, California. Current Board member of OCIF (Orange County Islamic Foundation) an educational and religious foundation in California.

BANA HILAL a community activist, she has always committed herself to humanitarian issues that involve empowering women and assisting underprivileged children. She is past president of the Lebanese Ladies Cultural Society, an organization that teaches underprivileged students in Lebanon. President and Founder of WIN, Women’s Intellectual Network in Orange County, a group that dedicates itself to building a strong community of women. She is Vice President of Program of AAUW (American Association of University Women) Laguna Beach Branch, past Vice President of Membership and Educational Foundation Program of AAUW- Long Beach. Past board member of Contacts of Orange County, professional women’s group, past board member of Art Matrix, an organization that encourages art as means of expression for Students, and has been a member of several organizations that provides support for the community.

Dr.Lina Haddad Kreidie PhD Political Science with a focus on Political Psychology and international relations at the University of California Irvine.
Other than teaching classes pertaining to conflicts, conflict resolution and peace an active member in a Ford Foundation difficult dialogue fund that promotes dialogue among conflictive groups of different ethnic racial and religious background and help promote better understanding of the diverse people and cultures.

JOAN DENDINGER DDS. Graduated from Creighton University School of Dentistry 1979, commissioned as a Naval Reserve Dental Officer in 1979. Retired from the Naval Reserve with the rank of Captain. Community involvement: past president of Yucaipa Rotary Club, 2003 recipient of the Joint Yucaipa-Calimesa School District Honorary Service Award for instituting a program to provide dental screenings and treatment for underserved population. Recipient 2005 CA State Assembly "Woman of Distinction" Award in the 63rd district.

DR NUR AMERSI is a practicing veterinarian for the last 10 years in Los Angeles. Devoted to community voluntary service, Dr.Amersi helped co-ordinate several cultural celebrations promoting inter-community bridge building. She is a strong believer in H.H.The Aga Khan's views that cultural sensitivity requires a deep intellectual commitment, a readiness to learn across cultural barriers and to see others as they see themselves. Dr.Amersi believes that in these troubled times; musical initiatives become tools that promote human and cultural pluralism thereby becoming an effective force of stability. Dr.Amersi has served in the Communications Portfolio for His Highness the Aga Khan Shia Ismaili Council for Western USA, and Convenor for the Young Professionals of the Aga Khan University, and the Deputy Convenor for the Western USA of the Institute of Ismaili Studies, London, U.K.,

Gail Namiko Sahara is a third generation Japanese American artist, was raised and educated in Kauai and Honolulu. While pursuing her bachelor’s degree at the University of Hawaii, she was involved in the ecology movement as well as establishment of its Ethnic Studies Department, which grew out of the local movement to end the war in Vietnam. Ms.Sahara is a strong supporter and a hard-core volunteer at AIDS Walk LA, Project Angel Food, Divas Simply Singing and a handful of other organizations. Ms.Sahara resides in Irvine, where she works as an art consultant and vintage jewelry designer. Ms.Sahara believes that working for various causes is the price we pay for the privilege of being a member of Society. Roads to You Tour has given her a means of working towards a more peaceful and healthy planet in a positive and delicious way.
